"We learn from Sri Bhakti-ratnakara and Sri Navadvipa-dhama-mahatmya that Nityananda Prabhu placed His lotus feet on the heads of Srila Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami and Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami, and He also bestowed such mercy upon Srila Jiva Gosvami. He can do this because He is guru. He did not do this in His form as Sri Baladeva, but as the all-merciful Nityananda Prabhu, He placed His lotus feet on the heads of many devotees.
caitanya-nityanande nahi esaba vicara
nama laite prema dena, vahe asru-dhara

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
[But if one only chants, with some slight faith, the holy names of Lord Caitanya and Nityananda, very quickly he is cleansed of all offenses. Thus as soon as he chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, he feels the ecstasy of love for God.]

We may live in Vrindavana and call out, āO Krsna! Krsna! Krsna!ā but tears do not fall from our eyes and our hearts do not melt.
On the other hand, if we go to Navadvipa-dhama and cry out, āO Gaura! O Nityananda! I am more sinful than Jagai and Madhai and all other demons!ā, Sri Gauranga and Sri Nityananda Prabhu will surely bestow Their astonishing, causeless mercy upon us.

Ā We can beseech Nityananda Prabhu in this way: āJagai and Madhai persecuted You, but You gave them Your mercy and they began to chant, āKrsna! Krsna!ā Both of them wept loudly and their hearts melted. But I am even more sinful than Jagai and Madhai.ā
Nityananda Prabhu is our only true shelter. If we want prema, we need only approach His lotus feet. Nityananda Prabhu comes to us through our guru, and He is the complete and undivided principle of Sri Guru (akhanda guru-tattva). Therefore, Sri Guru is a repository of the qualities of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. "
